Simon Svärd was born in 1972 in Uppsala, Sweden, and moved around quite a lot. He considers Jönköping, Karlskrona and Stockholm as his hometowns. He left Sweden for London in 1994 and completed a Masters degree at the Royal College of Art in the year 2000. His experiences in London also included working at Intro and Why Not Associates. He relocated to Barcelona in 2002 in search of something completely new. There he has been working primarily for larger agencies and music or fashion-related clients.
